KES2007 11th International Conference on Knowledge-Based and Intelligent Information & Engineering Systems
in conjunction with
WIRN 2007 XVII Italian Workshop on Neural Networks
Vietri sul Mare, Italy (12, 13 and 14 September 2007)
We are pleased to invite participation in KES2007 and WIRN2007 a joint event of two institutions successfully operating for a long time in the interdisciplinary field of modern intelligent systems. The conference will take place in the small town of Vietri sul Mare on the picturesque Italian coast near Salerno and not far from the famed bay of Naples. The venue will be the Lloyds Baia Hotel, built on the cliffs, overlooking the Mediteranean Sea, and with its own private beach. The conference will consist of keynote talks, paper and poster presentations, invited sessions and workshops, on the applications and theory of Intelligent Systems and related areas. It will constitute a privileged forum in which to present recent research results and to discuss new founding ideas in a totally relaxed atmosphere, where open-mindedness and rigorous argumentation may find a correct equilibrium.

Call for papers
Papers are invited from prospective authors with interests in the conference topics and related areas of application. All contributions should be of high quality, original and not published elsewhere or submitted for publication during the review period. The contributions will be accepted depending on their value, and will be presented either orally or by posters, depending on their attributes, author preferences and referee recommendations. Please see elsewhere in the web site for details of the required paper format. Papers must be submitted using the PROSE online system, and will be thoroughly reviewed by the KES2007&WIRN2007 Program Committee. The conference proceedings will be published by Springer in the Lecture Notes in AI series. Extended versions of selected papers will be considered for publication in the KES Journal. Authors will be limited to one paper per registration.
Call for Track/Subject chairs
Experienced researchers in the field are invited to apply to be Track Chairs, chairing wide-scope tracks covering the various facets of Intelligent Systems, taking responsibility for overseeing the paper review process within their domain of expertise. Please contact the KES2007 and WIRN2007 Secretariat outlining your experience and area of expertise if you would like to contribute to the organisation of KES2007 and WIR2007 as a Track Chair.
Call for invited sessions
Following an established tradition of both KES and WIRN conferences, we invite researchers on hot topics and fresh ideas in the field to organize
invited sessions, or parallel workshops of a half or full day, gathering a minimum of 5 papers of at least 3 research teams in the world. Please, contact the KES Secretariat enclosing the title and content of the proposed session, and tentatively involved research teams. We also welcome suggestions for other activities that will appeal to our delegates.
